Type of Wall

What type of wall is above the fireplace? Is it studded, concrete, or brick? The wall type will impact the type of mount your ultimately decide to buy.

Distance Between TV and Components

Double check the distance between your TV and the components you are hooking up to it. You want to be sure that you have cables that are the appropriate length. You don’t want to be in the middle of the installation and then realize that you don’t have the right cables.

TV Viewing Angle

Be sure to consider your viewing angle. Generally, when the TV is mounted above a fireplace, it’s higher than eye level. You may want to consider a mounting option that allows you to tilt it down to get the best viewing angle from your couch.
